Our beliefs
Here at Beit Yeshua Messianic Fellowship, we believe that Adonai is the one and only God of Israel and we believe in and promote Messiah Yeshua (Jesus) for our salvation. We believe that His Torah (Teachings) are relevant and essential for today. We lift Him up to both Jew and Gentile, and we teach the importance of understanding the Covenant relationship we have through Yeshua our Messiah, with the God of Avraham, Yitzhak and Yaakov.
It is our goal to spread the Good News of Messiah Yeshua and to teach others how to become His disciples so that they may live holy lives like the Master.
Our desire is to raise men up to take their rightful leadership positions in their homes and ekklesia (congregations/communities/fellowships) and for the women to provide help and support so as to demonstrate Yeshua in a set apart manner to bring glory and honour to our Lord and King. Together, we hope to share the message of Yeshua the Messiah and spread the light of Adonai's Torah to both the Jew and the Gentile.
Statement of Faith
I. The God of Avraham, Yitzhak and Yaakov (Abraham, Isaac and Jacob) is the One and Only God.
II. We believe in the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. We believe that this Word was manifest in the form of the Messiah. We believe that Yeshua is the prophesied and promised Messiah who came to redeem mankind from sin and death and who will rule as King over Israel and the nations in the future coming Kingdom of God. We believe that it is His Good News that we are to proclaim.
III. We believe in the inerrancy of the original manuscripts as found in the Tanakh (Hebrew Scriptures/Old Testament) and the Brit Chadashah for instruction, prophecy and doctrine and that they alone hold authority in our lives.
IV. We believe that the Torah of Adonai has not been abolished and that the observance of it is still the valid expression of a Godly faith; not as means of salvation, but as the God-given path of sanctification. The Torah given to Moshe (Moses) is the same Torah that Messiah Yeshua taught us to observe, make disciples with, and teach them to live Torah-pursuant lives in His name (Matthew 5:16-19).
V. We will strive to let love and unity prevail when there is any difference in doctrine and practice. There are issues that we can agree to disagree on, remembering that we are all at different stages in our walk, growth, and depth of study.
VI. We believe that it is important to study the Tanakh and the Torah as the foundation of all Scripture bearing in mind that the Bible was written for us, but not to us. All of our studying and teaching always focuses on placing Scripture in its rightful context. This includes the socio -historic backgrounds the books were written in to understand what they were dealing with in day to day life to help us gain a clearer picture of events. We especially come to the biblical texts humbly and reverently allowing the Ruach HaKodesh (Holy Spirit) to interpret and teach us before we make our contribution. We take seriously the exhortation in Romans 15:4 -
"For whatever was written in former days was written for our instruction, that through endurance and through encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope."
