Pointing out the importance of the need to interpret scripture as it was written to the people it was given to, the Jews. The Bible is a book given by Adonai to the nation He created in a way they understood. Our western mindset has a different way of processing information and thinking than the near eastern first century Judeans. We need to understand this to negate much of the confusion inherent within the churches today.
